"Queen Victoria and Prince Albert made a state visit to France August 18-27, 1855. The royal couple arrived in Boulogne and traveled to Paris by train along the Chemin de Fer du Nord. Before the queen's departure, Baron James de Rothschild presented her with a lavish album that included fifty photographic views of the towns and stations along the route between Paris and the English Channel".
